Quick question

What are the legal grounds for divorce in Singapore?

Answered by Updated

Short answer

The only legal ground for divorce in Singapore is that your marriage has broken down irretrievably, and you prove this using one of six recognised facts under the Women's Charter: adultery, unreasonable behaviour, desertion for at least two years, three years' separation with consent, four years' separation without consent, or Divorce by Mutual Agreement, introduced in July 2024.
