Quick question

What is the minimum length of marriage before I can file for divorce in Singapore?

Answered by Updated

Short answer

You must generally have been married for at least three years before filing for divorce, as required under Section 94 of the Women's Charter. An exception exists where the court grants leave to file divorce earlier on grounds of exceptional hardship to you or exceptional depravity by your spouse, though this is assessed case by case and is not granted routinely.
